ITERCON builds the first ship with the Exceptional BREEAM seal in Spain

  • The new platform has reached the highest category in terms of sustainability.
  • Delin has once again trusted ITERCON for the second phase of its logistics center in Illescas.

The company specialized in design and construction, ITERCON, has obtained, in its latest project, the BREEAM Exceptional energy efficiency seal. This is the highest category within the classification system used by the entity specialized in the certification of sustainable constructions.

The logistics warehouse, which ITERCON has built for Delin Property, is the first building of this type to reach the highest level within the BREEAM seals. Delin Illescas II has been designed and built following the highest sustainability standards, resulting in a building that respects the environment that will see its energy consumption and CO2 emissions reduced compared to other similar constructions.

During the certification process, BREEAM consultants have valued the indoor air quality plan that reduces pollution in the building, self-supply of energy through solar panels installed on the roof and the promotion of energy-efficient transport through stations electric cargo and regeneration elevators.

All these measures mean an increase in the life cycle of the building and minimize the costs of consumption and supplies, thus fulfilling the commitment that Delin Property has with the ESG criteria and which is the pillar on which all its projects are based. “The continuous training that the ITERCON teams receive in terms of sustainability, linked to the coordination between the design and production departments, allows us to make projects of the highest quality, responsible with the environment and that they meet the standards expected by our clients”, commented the general director of ITERCON, Manuel Marín.

The platform is located in Illescas (Toledo) and constitutes the second phase of the complex that the investment fund is developing in the most important logistics hub in the center of the country and whose first phase was already built by ITERCON in 2022. The ship It has 21.000 m2 of storage space and over a hundred jobs have been created throughout the project.
