ITERCON reinforces its social commitment with a donation to AFESOL Mental Health

  • The donation is part of the construction company’s project to have an impact on the communities where it operates.
  • Thanks to this action, the organization will launch a project to reduce stigma and empower people suffering from mental illness.

The company specializing in design and construction, ITERCON, has donated 4,000.00 euros to AFESOL Mental Health (Association of Relatives and People with Mental Illness on the Costa del Sol) as part of its positive impact project in the communities in which it operates.

The official presentation ceremony took place at the organization’s social centre in Estepona and was attended by users, family members, workers and the president of AFESOL Salud Mental, Cristian González Cuevas. Representing ITERCON were Pascual Meroño, site manager, and Leyla Gallego, head of Communications.

Subsequently, an official reception was held at Estepona Town Hall by the Mayor and the first stone was laid for the Bulevar del Parque Central project.

The main objective of this alliance is to give visibility to the work carried out by AFESOL Salud Mental in the promotion of mental health and to strengthen the ties between the company and the local community.

Thanks to ITERCON’s donation, AFESOL Mental Health will be able to implement the project ‘Connecting Lives: Mental Health and Social Inclusion through art, movement and nature’, which will promote the autonomy and empowerment of the participants, as well as reduce the stigma surrounding their illness. The programme includes, among others, activities such as yoga, art therapy and biodance.

ITERCON has been working in Estepona for more than a year, where it is implementing projects such as the construction of the underground car park at the Iglesia del Carmen and the redevelopment of the surrounding area, while it has recently begun work on the development of the new Parque Central Boulevard, both of which are key projects for improving mobility and providing new spaces for the city’s residents.
